Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi expressed his delight on the comprehensive friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba, which has been increasingly consolidated and enhanced in recent years, through cooperation, exchange and assistance activities. Recently, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the two sides have implemented many other forms of exchange, especially phone calls between General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the First Secretary, President Miguel Diaz Canel, a phone call between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, online meetings between Vietnamese ministries, branches and businesses with Cuban ministries, branches and businesses.
Ambassador Nicolás Hermández Guillén thanked Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi for taking the time to welcome and thanked the Vietnamese Party, Government and People for both material and spiritual support. He also expressed his wish to promote the trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
The whole meeting
At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi and Ambassador Orlando Nicolás Hermández Guillén agreed to study specific potentials of cooperation between the two sides in trade and investment in the fields of construction, agriculture, health, especially in the field of manufacturing vaccines and biological products.
As Co-Chairman of the Vietnam - Cuba Intergovernmental Committee Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi affirmed the close relationship between the Ministry of Construction and the Cuban Embassy to Vietnam. In the coming time, the Ministry of Construction and the Cuban Embassy will closely coordinate to complete the Action Program to implement the medium term bilateral economic agenda between Vietnam and Cuba for the 2021-2025 period, as well as such as agree on the program, content and mode of cooperation to prepare for the 39th meeting of the Vietnam – Cuba Intergovernmental Committee, which is expected to be held at the end of this year.
