• The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam cooperated with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan to organize the Vietnam - Japan Business Forum for energy efficiency, energy conservation and renewable energy on March 17th with the participant of experts, international guests, representatives of enterprises operating in the field of energy saving and renewable energy of Vietnam and Japan.

  • At the 3rd Conference on sustainable development of the Mekong Delta adapting to climate change, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi said that in the coming time, the Ministry of Construction will continue to focus and complete “Orientation for the development of urban and rural systems in the Mekong Delta", as a basis for construction of Mekong Delta Region Planning.

  • Memorandum of Understanding on the implementation of the Energy Efficiency Program in Buildings in Vietnam was signed between the Housing and Real Estate Market Management Agency (the Ministry of Construction) and the German Development Cooperation (GIZ).

  • Vietnam and Cuba sought measures to increase two-way trade to 500 million USD in 2025 during the 38th meeting of the Vietnam-Cuba Inter-Governmental Committee, held online on December 30.

  • The Vietnam Construction Environment Association held a Workshop “Indoor air quality standards for residential and public buildings in Vietnam” on December 19th with the participation of leaders of the Department of Science, Technology and Environment (Ministry of Construction); experts from construction and medical associations; lecturers of universities; experts from Panasonic Group and many domestic and international delegates, aiming to consult experts in improving the quality and complete the content of the draft TCVN “Indoor air quality standards for residential and public buildings – design standards”.

  • The 2nd ASEAN – Japan smart cities network high level meeting took place online on December 16th. Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh co-chaired the conference. There were Japanese Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) Akaba Kazuyoshi; ASEAN Secretary-General Lim Jock Hoi; national representatives, smart city representatives under ASEAN Smart Cities Network (ASCN) at the conference.  

  • The Project Management Unit "Improving energy efficiency in commercial buildings and high-rise apartment buildings in Vietnam" (EECB project) held a consultation workshop “Development of energy efficiency certification for existing buildings in Vietnam: process and results” on December 15th. Deputy Director of Department of Science, Technology and Environment (Ministry of Construction), Deputy Director of EECB project - Mr. Nguyen Cong Thinh chaired the workshop with presence of representatives of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the German International Cooperation Organization (GIZ) and many domestic and international experts working in the field of energy saving and environment.

  • In the framework of Vietnam Green Building Week 2020, the Ministry of Construction organized a Conference on equipment, energy efficient technology and resources on December 10th.

  • The Ministry of Construction held a seminar on Green and Energy Saving building materials on December 10th. This is one of the seminars in the series of activities of Vietnam Green Building Week 2020.

  • Ministry of Construction in coordination with German International Cooperation in Vietnam (GIZ) organized a workshop “Orientation for Development of Urban and rural systems in the Mekong Delta” on December 10th, in Cantho city. Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi attended and spoke to open the workshop. There were representatives of ministries, central agencies, 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, experts, scientists, international organizations, associations at the workshop.

  • The Ministry of Construction coordinated with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to open the Vietnam Green Building Week 2020 on December 9th, in Hanoi with the presence of Deputy Minister Le Quang Hung, UNDP Viet Nam Deputy Resident Representative Sitara Syed; representatives of departments and agencies under the Ministry of Construction; business community; domestic and international experts.
