Presenting Certificate of Merit of the Minister of Construction to the Second Secretary, Japanese Embassy to Vietnam

Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van chaired the awarding ceremony of the Certificate of Merit of the Minister of Construction to Mr. Jin Toriyama - Second Secretary, Japanese Embassy to Vietnam on March 17^th in presence of leaders of units under the Ministry of Construction, representatives of the Japanese Embassy to Vietnam.

On behalf of the Minister of Construction, Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van presented the Certificate of Merit of the Minister of Construction to Mr. Jin Toriyama

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van said that during his tenure in Vietnam, Mr. Jin Toriyama actively promoted many cooperation activities between the Ministry of Construction and the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and many other Japanese and international partners; supported the Ministry of Construction to develop high-level conference programs of the Japan - ASEAN Smart Cities Network; effectively connected cooperation programs between the Ministry of Construction, major cities of Vietnam and Japanese partners; connected Japanese businesses operating in the housing, construction and urban sectors to visit and work with the Ministry of Construction; actively supported the Ministry of Construction in the implementation of the project of Capacity building in building a legal framework for urban drainage and wastewater treatment, development of state management tools for construction investment projects… These projects contributed to perfect the institutions, policies and laws of the Construction industry and improve the management capacity of the industry's staffs.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van highly appreciated Mr Jin.Toriyama’s contribution to the construction sector development in Vietnam and also hoped that in  his new position, he would pay attention to and promote the cooperation relationship between the Ministry of Construction and Japanese partners in particular, and between the Governments of the two countries in particular.

For his part, Mr. Jin.Toriyama gave his pleasure to be awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Minister of Construction and thanked leaders of the MoC for their interest in coordinating and creating favorable conditions for him to fulfill his tasks.

He promised to further enhance comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam Ministry of Construction and Japanese partners.
