Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Vietnam.
At the meeting, Ambassador Bezdetko Gennady Stepanovich thanked the Minister and leaders of the units under the Ministry of Construction for taking the time to welcome and work with the delegation of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Vietnam. He also expressed his pleasure with the good results in the Vietnam - Russia relationship in general and between the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Services of the Russian Federation and Russian partners in particular. The Ambassador believed that in the coming time, the two sides will continue to achieve new results in the cooperation and development relationship.
Ambassador Bezdetko Gennady Stepanovich emphasized the need for cooperation between the Russian Federation and Vietnam in the field of construction materials, especially cement and wooden furniture.

Overview of meeting
Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi expressed his joyful to welcome the ambassador and said that in recent years, cooperation in the construction sector between the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and Russian partners has been constantly developing. In particular, the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Services of the Russian Federation signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in 2019 to promote cooperation in many areas of the construction sector. Currently, in the field of construction science and technology, Vietnam has still applied many Russian standards in the construction sector. In addition, the Russian Federation has helped to train and foster many generations of officials and experts for the Vietnamese construction sector.
Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi said that last September, on the occasion of accompanying the delegation of the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam to visit and work in Russia, he had a meeting and worked with Comrade Fazulin - Minister of Construction, Housing and Public Services of the Russian Federation. At this meeting, the two co-ministers discussed many contents with the aim of signing a new cooperation agreement between the two ministries in the coming time.
In addition, in November 2024, at the meeting within the framework of the World Urban Forum in Egypt, Deputy Minister of Construction of Vietnam Nguyen Tuong Van met and exchanged with his counterpart from the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Services of the Russian Federation. Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Public Services of the Russian Federation affirmed to re-sign the memorandum of understanding between the two Ministries and support the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam in the fields of construction and completion of the system of standards, regulations and norms of the construction industry; cooperation in research on new construction materials, scientific research, fire safety of houses and buildings; training; scientific research, production and testing of energy-saving materials; and human resources for the construction industry.
