The Ministry of Construction held a ceremony to award the Medal for the Cause of Construction to the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam, Irmina Perojo Bellido de Luna, on August 22nd. Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van; Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Vietnam, Joy Puentes Saldies; representatives of functional units under the Ministry of Construction, and construction enterprises of Vietnam and Cuba attended the ceremony.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van presented the Medal for the Cause of Construction to Ms. Irmina Perojo Bellido de Luna.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van said that during her 5-year term in Vietnam, from September 2019 to August 2024, Ms. Irmina Perojo Bellido de Luna has made many positive contributions to promoting cooperation activities within the framework of the Vietnam - Cuba Intergovernmental Committee, especially in the fields of economy, trade and investment, contributing to promoting comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
Ms. Irmina Perojo Bellido de Luna actively coordinated in preparing for the successful organization of the 37th-41st Sessions of the Vietnam - Cuba Intergovernmental Committee; coordinated with the Ministry of Construction in organizing, monitoring, and urging the effective implementation of cooperation agreements in the Minutes of the Intergovernmental Committee Meetings of the two countries.

In the construction sector, Ms. Irmina Perojo Bellido de Luna has made many contributions to developing specialized cooperation between the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and the Ministry of Construction of Cuba through delegation exchanging at all levels; developing cooperation projects, coordinating the organization of specialized conferences and seminars; closely supervising investment cooperation projects of enterprises of the two countries, including the construction materials production investment project, the industrial park infrastructure investment project in Mariel Special Zone of VIGLACERA Corporation-CTCP in Cuba, the proposal of the 5-star hotel construction investment project of Cityland Company in La Habana and construction supervision activities of DINVAI Company (Cuba) in Vietnam.
On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Construction, Deputy Minister Nguyen Tuong Van acknowledged and highly appreciated the important contributions of Ms. Irmina Perojo Bellido de Luna in promoting the cooperative relationship between the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam and the Ministry of Construction of Cuba, the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam as well as organizations and agencies under the Cuban Government, connecting and promoting cooperation between construction enterprises of the two countries.

Ms. Irmina Perojo Bellido de Luna expressed her joy to be awarded d the Medal for the Cause of Construction by the Ministry of Construction - the most prestigious award of the Vietnamese Construction industry and sincerely thanked the leaders of the Ministry of Construction and the units under the Ministry for their attention and coordination, creating favorable conditions for her to successfully complete all tasks during her term of office in Vietnam. Ms. Irmina Perojo Bellido de Luna also said that after returning to Cuba, regardless of her position, she will pay attention to promoting the cooperative relationship between the Vietnamese Ministry of Construction and the Cuban Ministry of Construction and other specialized ministries under the Cuban Government, contributing to fostering the special solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Cuba.
