Regulations on Hà Nội construction planning issued

Deputy PM Hoàng Trung Hải has assigned the Construction Ministry to coordinate with the Hà Nội People’s Committee to publicize regulations on scheme-based management of the Hà Nội construction planning till 2030 and vision to 2050.
According to the planning, approved by the PM in July 2011, the capital city will consist of the central urban area, 5 satellite urban areas and towns which are connected with each other via belt roads.
The central urban area will see the expansion of the downtown toward the West and South to the belt road No.4 and to the North with Mê Linh and Đông Anh, and to the East with Gia Lâm and Long Biên. This is the political, administrative, economic, cultural, historical, service, healthcare and high-grade training centre of Hà Nội as well as for the whole country.
Its population is estimated at 3.7 million in 2020, and its urban area covers some 45,300 ha. The respective figures in 2030 will be 4.6 million and 55,200 ha.
