The Department of Construction of the southern province of Hau Giang has said that after three years of implementing the Prime Minister’s decision on supporting housing for the poor, over 7,000 houses have been built with capital of VND213 billion.

Each house has been built with VND30 million. The money comes from State assistance, the fund mobilized by the Fatherland Front, preferential loans for the poor and assistance from the beneficiary’s relatives.

Each has been built on an area of 32-36 square metres with adequate construction quality.

In 2012 alone, the fourth year that the decision has been carried out, as of late May, 816 houses were built with VND17 billion, accounting for 90% of the number of houses planned to be built for the poor in the year.

In the near future, Hau Giang province expects to build another 11,000 houses for those with inadequate housing.

The building helps to reduce poverty and is pursued with a humanitarian spirit, showing the solidarity and unity between people in the country./.
