Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai has ratified the portfolio of project on technical assistance for Strengthening Sustainable Urban Transport for Hanoi Metro Line 3 Project.
The technical assistance project, worth US $1.1 million, is funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The Deputy PM assigned the Hanoi’s People’s Committee to finalize documents of the technical assistance project as regulated by the Decree No. 131/2006/NĐ-CP.
The 12.5-km line will stretch from Hanoi’s main railway station in Hoan Kiem District to Nhon in Tu Liem District, connecting the west and the south of the capital, including a 4-km underground section and another 8.5-km of elevated track.
Work on the line 3 project began in September last year and will be completed by 2015. The metro line is forecast to transport over 150,000 commuters a day initially, with the number rising to almost half a million by 2030.
