On November 6th, 2024, in Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Construction Pham Minh Ha welcomed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Vietnam Philipp Agathonos. Leaders of businesses from the Republic of Austria, operating in the fields of water supply, drainage, wastewater treatment, green buildings, energy saving, smart cities, attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Ambassador Philipp Agathonos expressed his joy at the increasingly developing cooperation between Vietnam and the Republic of Austria, and said that he had just attended the "Vietnam Water Week – Viet Nam Water Week 2024" - an event with the participation and display of products and technological solutions of many Austrian businesses.

According to the Ambassador, the Republic of Austria is a country with developed science and technology, always focused on sustainable development goals. Austrian enterprises want to learn more about regulations, norms, and standards in the fields of water supply, drainage, wastewater treatment, green buildings, energy saving, urban infrastructure development, smart cities, etc., on that basis, promote cooperation and project implementation in Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha said that in its roles and functions, the Ministry of Construction always has paid special attention to the tasks of building institutions, legal policies for the construction sector, developing green buildings, saving energy, planning, developing smart cities, adapting to climate change, digital transformation...Those areas that have been received attention from the Ambassador and businesses of the Republic of Austria.

The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the scientific and technological level of the Republic of Austria and said that the Ministry of Construction was always ready to exchange information and expand cooperation with international partners, including partners and enterprises from the Republic of Austria.

The Deputy Minister assigned the Department of Technical Infrastructure to be the focal point, and specialized units of the Ministry of Construction to discuss with partners and enterprises of the Republic of Austria on the contents of mutual interest, thereby strongly promoting the cooperative relationship between the Ministry of Construction and the Embassy and partners and enterprises of the Republic of Austria in the coming time.
