Construction on an international golf course and resort complex that is currently the largest tourism project in Thanh Hoa province kicked off on May 4.

The project is being undertaken by the FLC Group with a total investment of VND5.5 trillion (US$260.5 million).
A five-star resort is in the works on an area of over 340ha. Expected to cost VND4.3 trillion (US$200 million), it will provide tourists with services that meet international standards while introducing and promoting the local culture.
The FLC Group is also building an 18-hole golf course named FLC Samson Golf Links, replete with a system of mature green trees, premium grasses, water traps and lakes, clubhouses, hotels, and luxurious villas on an area of 92.4ha. The project has received a total investment of VND 1.2 trillion (US$50 million).
The gold course is expected to be completed in ten months, and will be fully operational in time for National Tourism Year 2015.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu called the resort a key project for the promotion of socio-economic development in Thanh Hoa.
He also expressed his hope that the project will create jobs and help develop the province’s tourism industry.
