On March 15, SCG Cement, one of five core businesses of SCG from Thailand -one of the leading conglomerates in ASEAN, officially inaugurates operation of Buu Long Industry & Investment Joint Stock Company (Buu Long I&I JSC) in Vinh Cuu district, Dong Nai province.
SCG Cement has implemented a renovation to develop Buu Long I&I JSC to become a better qualified workplace, following closely SCG’s sustainable development guidelines for eco-friendly manufacturing. Total investment including acquisition and plant renovation is 5.5 million USD.
Buu Long I&I JSC is specialized in providing high quality white and grey cement for Vietnam’s market with the capacity up to 200,000 tons a year. Seeing the potential of white cement in the market, SCG adjusted the facility of Buu Long I&I JSC to produce 80,000 tons of white cement and 120,000 tons of grey cement annually.
Mr. Pramote Techasupatkul, President of SCG Cement said: “With nearly 100 years of experiences in manufacturing and supplying high quality cement and constructing solutions, SCG Cement will apply this expertise to turn Buu Long I&I JSC to a regional standard company. We will constantly address the environmental management and conservation following sustainable development guidelines of SCG. These guidelines help us develop and improve production processes, lead us to utilize eco-friendly technology and hopefully, help to reinforce our position as a good corporate citizen, a trusted partner in the nation”.
SCG also aims to develop a training center in Buu Long I&I JSC to introduce the innovative use of white cement to architects and enhance professional skills for constructing workers. Moreover, white cement was also used in the renovation of this facility using innovative decoration technique, showcasing the flexibility decorative value of white cement in various spaces and surfaces which can also be used as practical demonstrations for the training center’s attendees.
